Meet the NY6A Hoosier 600 Tour Officials
Danny Knoll Jr
Series Director
The Hoosier 600 Microsprint tour was started five years ago by Tri County Racing club at Danny Knoll Jr's suggestion as a board member to be an arm of Limerock Speedway. The idea was to foster cooperation of scheduling of a tour for the benefit of all Microsprint racers and tracks. After the initial season, although very successful, the club decided that the tour was not really a good fit for its mission statement and was sold to Danny Knoll Jr for $1.At that time, the tour incorporated the name US6A and the dba NY6A Tour. Since its inception the mission statement for the tour has been to promote and grow 600 Microsprint racing to the benefit of all involved.
The vision for the tour is to educate racers on the extreme value that the class offers for a real race car. Make no mistakes, we are the fastest cars on the track at most venues, and even faster than full size sprinters on a dry slick day! We hope the numbers grow as the racing community realizes that good racing does not need to be expensive.

Jim Wallace
Tour Assistant
Jim initially joined the tour as PR Director for 2018. He since has been offered another position with a different touring series but will stay on and assist in anyway possible and attend shows that do not have any other conflicts.
First and foremost, I am no stranger to being around the track! Growing up in Weedsport, I remember listening to the roar of the engines (and in those days, “you know it’s summer when they are rocking in Weedsport” concerts) from my house. As I got older I was able to start attending races regularly at what is not Weedsport Speedway.
I was very active for several years as a volunteer firefighter and became an EMT in the Weedsport Fire Department, also receiving their firefighter of the year award. I eventually was able to join the track safety crew. I worked shows from around 2004-2010. I worked Cayuga Co Fair Speedway and was also able to work at Rolling Wheels Raceway, Canandaigua Motorsports Park and Super Dirt Week at the NYS Fairgrounds. This gave me a lot of experience with a variety of cars at a variety of tracks. It also gave me a chance to meet and interact with a variety of drivers. A highlight of that would be the day I was sitting in the ambulance in the old pits at Cayuga Co when Tony Stewart learned up against the ambulance where I was sitting!!
Most of the time if I was not working at the track, I was there watching the race. After my time on safety crew came to an end, I still went to as many races as possible, whenever possible. It has been a highlight of my summers for many years. My wife and I even went to a race at Weedsport as part of our first date (that’s when you know she is a keeper)!
Professionally, I received my Associate Degree in business administration from Cayuga Community College in 2003. For the last 5 years I have been working as a store manager for Kinney Drugs, a local drug store chain. All in, I have over 12yrs combined experience in retail management.
Personally, I live in Weedsport and have been happily married to my wife Rachel for 6yrs! We have an awesome 4yr old boy named Micah who keeps us on our toes. I have been working on being a good parent and ensuring that he makes it to the track a couple times a year!
I was certainly thrilled when Danny allowed me to come on board as the PR director for the tour. There has been a lot of work in the off season! The Facebook pages has increased in activity which has lead to over 100 new “likes” on the page. We have started a twitter account as well as an Instagram account and several website updates.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions and suggestions on anything I can do to help!
